Students today allegedly damaged a Siliguri bound private bus by pelting stones on the National Highway 34 at Bilashpur in which the driver was badly injured.
The students also beat up the conductor and assistant of the bus and injured them too. Later they blocked roads on National Highway 34 for hours causing huge traffic congestion. Meanwhile both the owners and staff of private buses organised another road blockade for around an hour on the NH~34 at Siligurimore in Raiganj against the attack by the students. The secretary of the Bus and minibus Owners Association of North Dinajpur, Mr Ashok Chanda said, “If police fails to arrest them we will suspend our bus services in protest.”
