Miss Mamata Banerjee today cautioned the administration and the people stating that the CPI-M had stockpiled arms in Murshidabad and several places of north Bengal to unleash terror on the third phase of the rural polls on 18 May.
“In addition to Murshidabad district, the CPI-M is planning to disrupt poll process through violence at Chopra in North Dinajpur and in different places of Cooch Behar district,” Miss Banerjee said at Raiganj today.
The Trinumul leader, who also addressed three election meetings at Trimohini, Pransagar and Thengapara in South Dinajpur district, urged the people to vote for the RSP in areas where Trinamul candidates were not contesting.
According to Miss Bane-rjee, the CPI-M’s violence could be stopped had the UPA government reacted to it. “The CPI-M tortured the minority community, tribals and women for power. The Centre was supposed to take note of it but did not,” Miss Banerjee, said.
She also said that the state government had no right to use police force and state machinery for the party’s benefit. But the Centre is quiet as because the Congress led UPA government has good relation with the CPI-M..
